Job Description
■Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic, self-motivated, and high-caliber professional to join our team as a Deputy Manager within the Food & Retail Business Division at a premier global trading and investment conglomerate's Malaysian entity. Located in Kuala Lumpur, this permanent, full-time replacement position is designed for an ambitious business professional who thrives in international commerce and wants to make a tangible impact across agricultural commodity and bio-resource markets. In this role, you will be deeply involved in executing core trading, sales, marketing, and business development operations spanning palm oil, edible oils and fats, animal feed materials, food ingredients, and renewable biofuel feedstocks.
As a Deputy Manager, you will act as a pivotal operational hub, bridging internal strategic directions with external market demand. You will collaborate closely with a multi-disciplinary network of internal stakeholders, regional offices, and global affiliates to expand commercial footprints across Southeast Asia and beyond. A major emphasis of this position involves identifying, cultivating, and managing resilient commercial relationships with key upstream suppliers, downstream industrial customers, and strategic logistics partners. Through meticulous market analysis, trend monitoring, and proactive networking, you will identify emerging commercial opportunities, optimize existing supply chain workflows, and implement customer-centric, value-added trading solutions.
This role offers an exceptional entry platform for a proactive corporate generalist or junior commercial professional with an impressive academic background and a strong passion for international business. You will be tasked with taking full ownership of end-to-end transaction flows, contract execution, and post-trade administrative coordination, ensuring seamless operational delivery while maintaining strict corporate governance and compliance standards. Whether evaluating market dynamics in the global bio-energy sector, negotiating commercial terms for agricultural products, or navigating international trade frameworks, you will play an active, direct role in driving sustainable top-line growth and overall divisional profitability.
We offer an invigorating environment characterized by continuous learning, professional growth, collaborative teamwork, and structured career advancement opportunities. If you hold a solid foundation in commercial business, possess an analytical mindset, demonstrate strong commercial acumen, and are eager to take on new corporate challenges in international trade, we invite you to apply and build a rewarding career with our team.
