  • Job Description

    Job Objective
    To establish and optimize assembly processes to improve manufacturing efficiency, productivity, quality, and process yield while reducing operational costs.

    Key Responsibilities
    • Establish and maintain manufacturing line layouts and workflow for assembly products.
    • Calculate and analyse process cycle time, capacity, and throughput.
    • Calculate assembly and manufacturing costs.
    • Analyse existing processes and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
    • Implement Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
    • Monitor and report key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify improvement opportunities.
    • Support the New Product Introduction (NPI) process and liaise with R&D engineers and Contract Manufacturers (CMs) to introduce new designs into mass production.
    • Monitor process yield charts and implement improvement activities to achieve productivity and efficiency targets.
    • Participate in design reviews, process validation, and product validation activities.
    • Work closely with Supplier, Quality, and Manufacturing teams to ensure the completion and implementation of Quality Control Plans, Flow Plans, Work Instructions, PFMEA, CPK, SPC, and other required certifications.
    • Support Material Planning and Production Planning teams.
    • Conduct periodic employee performance evaluations, communicate strengths and areas for improvement, and recommend appropriate development or merit adjustments.
    • Develop and implement quality control procedures to maintain high product quality standards.
    • Conduct supplier audits and assessments to ensure compliance with quality and manufacturing standards.
    • Collaborate with suppliers to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions.
    • Ensure production line personnel are properly trained, certified, and performing according to established standards.
    • Ensure compliance with company Quality, Health & Safety, and Environmental policies and procedures.
    • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned from time to time.

Qualifications

  • Requirement

    Education
    • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field.
    • Candidates without a degree but with a minimum of 5 years of relevant manufacturing engineering experience may also be considered.
    • Certification in Six Sigma and/or Lean Manufacturing is preferred.

    Experience
    • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in manufacturing, process, or optimization engineering.
    • Good understanding of mechanical design and mass production processes.
    • Experience in data analysis and Statistical Process Control (SPC).
    • Good understanding of Bill of Materials (BOM).
    • Strong knowledge of engineering principles and manufacturing techniques.
    • Experience working with internal and external stakeholders on product design, process development, and applications.
    • Experience in NPI and continuous improvement projects is an advantage.

    Skills
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel.
    • Knowledge of CAD software.
    • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Good command of written and spoken English.
    • Ability to work independently and effectively in a team environment.
