  • Job Description

    This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and optimizing automated inspection systems used to detect defects on printed circuit boards (PCBs) and electronic components. The AOI Engineer works closely with production and quality teams to enhance inspection accuracy, improve manufacturing efficiency, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

    • Design, configure, and optimize camera, lighting, and image processing setups used in SMT inspection equipment.
    • Create and fine-tune algorithms that identify solder joint defects, missing or misaligned components, and other PCB surface abnormalities.
    • Ensure AOI machines are effectively positioned after key stages such as component placement and reflow soldering.
    • Train and deploy machine learning or neural network models to improve defect recognition and reduce false calls.
    • Regularly calibrate AOI machines and validate inspection results to ensure reliability and repeatability.
    • Investigate inspection or production issues, perform root cause analysis, and support corrective actions.
    • Work with SMT process engineers, maintenance, and quality teams to improve inspection standards and reduce production errors.
    • Contribute to enhancing AOI programs, inspection parameters, and overall process capability within SMT operations.

Qualifications

  • Requirement

    <Requirements>
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, Computer, or related Engineering field.
    • Min. 2 years of experience in AOI system operation, programming, or development within an SMT or electronics manufacturing environment.
    • Hands-on experience with AOI systems such as Omron, Koh Young, or equivalent is preferred.
    •Strong understanding of SMT processes, soldering techniques, and PCB quality control.

    <Advantageous>
    • Familiarity with vision algorithms, image processing, or machine learning applications in inspection systems.
    • Analytical, detail-oriented, and proactive in problem-solving.
    • Good communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
