Job Description
【Job Summary】
We are seeking a highly capable, hands-on, and innovative IoT Engineer to drive the end-to-end engineering, hardware integration, field deployment, and ongoing network optimization of state-of-the-art Internet of Things (IoT) hardware, edge gateways, and connected infrastructure. Operating across the rapidly expanding domains of smart municipal lighting, building automation, environmental monitoring, and sustainable urban technology, this critical role acts as the core technical bridge connecting physical field devices, embedded controllers, multi-sensor hardware arrays, and central cloud software management systems.
As an IoT Engineer within our organization, you will take primary ownership of complex field-to-cloud connectivity, real-time sensor telemetry ingestion, remote device command protocols, and intelligent control interfaces. Working alongside cross-functional teams of electrical leads, application developers, software engineers, and field installation crews, you will ensure that large-scale infrastructure deployments perform with maximum uptime, data integrity, and operational efficiency. Your day-to-day responsibilities will cover every stage of the technical lifecycle—from selecting hardware components and performing bench testing in the laboratory environment, to writing/integrating firmware routines, conducting site commissioning, inspecting field wiring schematics, and executing remote diagnostic analysis across diverse wired and wireless communication backhauls.
This position is ideal for an energetic, practical engineering problem solver who thrives at the intersection of electronic hardware and modern cloud software platforms. Whether you are debugging serial communication lines on a physical installation site, setting up edge device provisioning, configuring multi-node wireless mesh networks, or configuring automated alerting thresholds on a operational dashboard, you will play a central role in delivering reliable, energy-efficient solutions for modern public and commercial sector facilities.
Furthermore, this position offers structured, long-term technical and managerial career progression pathways. Designed to recognize high performers, the position provides direct exposure to enterprise-level hardware frameworks and cloud ecosystems, allowing you to advance from an IoT Engineering Specialist into Senior IoT Engineer, Technical Lead, and Smart City Engineering Manager roles within our expanding smart infrastructure business unit.
【Responsibilities】
1. IoT System Architecture & Hardware Integration
・System Design & Testing: Design, build, test, and deploy integrated end-to-end IoT systems for commercial smart lighting, outdoor urban infrastructure, energy management, and smart city applications.
・Device Interconnection: Interconnect physical field controllers, smart energy meters, environmental quality sensors, actuators, and industrial edge gateways with central cloud monitoring systems.
・Protocol Configuration: Configure, optimize, and troubleshoot multi-layered communication protocols across industrial, serial, and IP network topologies, including:
-Messaging & Cloud Protocols: MQTT, HTTP/HTTPS, REST APIs, TCP/IP.
-Industrial & Serial Protocols: Modbus (RTU/TCP), RS485, DMX512, and specialized digital lighting control interfaces.
-Wireless & Cellular Topologies: LoRaWAN, NB-IoT, 4G LTE, and 5G cellular communication channels.
・Device Tracking & Evaluation: Monitor device health metrics, telemetry payload formats, and remote payload transmission efficiency while evaluating third-party hardware modules for ecosystem integration.
2. Cloud Platform & Remote Device Integration
・Cloud Ingestion: Integrate physical field gateways and local subnet networks into enterprise cloud platforms and software monitoring dashboards.
・Device Provisioning: Implement secure device provisioning routines, cryptographic device authentication, key lifecycle management, and Over-The-Air (OTA) remote firmware/configuration updates.
・Pipeline Maintenance: Build and maintain resilient data pipelines to deliver sensor telemetry securely from edge gateways to cloud APIs with low latency and high network reliability.
・Operations Support: Develop diagnostic logs, automated event notifications, system error alerts, and interactive telemetry visualization dashboards for internal operations teams.
3. Site Commissioning, Testing & Technical Support
・Lab Validation: Perform pre-deployment laboratory evaluations, stress testing, and Proof-of-Concept (PoC) hardware validations before physical site installation.
・On-Site Commissioning: Lead site commissioning operations, including signal range testing, edge gateway pairing, parameter configuration, and field power verification across urban project locations.
・Troubleshooting: Diagnose root causes of communication drops, signal degradation, voltage instability, sensor calibration errors, and physical wiring issues alongside field technicians.
・Documentation: Generate clear engineering documentation, accurate schematics, wiring pinout guides, deployment configuration logs, and operational handbooks.
