  The Senior Chemist will lead the chemical and compounding laboratories, overseeing all aspects of latex testing, chemical evaluation, formulation development, and process improvement for vulcanized rubber thread production. The role combines hands-on analytical work with technical leadership in product innovation, compounding optimization, and process control to ensure consistent high-quality output.
  
  Key Responsibilities
  1. Laboratory & Quality Control
  • Supervise the latex testing lab (TSC, MST, alkalinity, pH, mechanical stability, KOH number, etc.) and chemical QC lab.
  • Approve all incoming latex and chemical batches prior to use in production.
  • Ensure that daily QC and R&D reports meet Rubberflex’s technical and ISO quality standards.
  • Maintain calibration and accuracy of lab equipment (Brookfield viscometers, pH meters, particle analyzers, etc.).
  
  2. Compounding & Dispersion
  • Head the compounding and dispersion sections, ensuring proper preparation of sulfur, ZnO, TiO₂, antioxidant, accelerator, and stabilizer dispersions.
  • Optimize compounding formulations to achieve consistent thread tensile, modulus, and elongation properties.
  • Troubleshoot process issues related to viscosity, gelling time, or thread surface finish.
  • Evaluate raw-material performance and recommend chemical substitutions or improvements.
  
  3. Research & Development
  • Lead R&D activities to improve product performance, reduce cost, and develop new grades (e.g., high-tensile, high-modulus, black, or UV-resistant threads).
  • Conduct laboratory and pilot-scale trials to test new formulations, dispersions, and vulcanization systems.
  • Analyze competitors’ products (benchmarking Rubberflex vs. Rubfila, NRT, etc.) and recommend innovations.
  • Collaborate with production to implement successful R&D formulations into plant-scale trials.
  
  4. Technical Leadership & Documentation
  • Train and guide chemists, lab technicians, and compounders in analytical methods and formulation control.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation including SOPs, COAs, MSDS, and R&D trial reports.
  • Liaise with customers and suppliers on technical queries or joint development projects.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental and chemical safety standards (REACH, Oeko-Tex, etc.).
