Position SummaryThe Instrumentation Engineer is responsible for ensuring the reliability, accuracy, and integrity of all instrumentation, control systems, and automation equipment used across company's rubber thread production facilities. The role supports continuous operations by maintaining, troubleshooting, calibrating, and improving sensors, analyzers, PLC/SCADA systems, and process-monitoring devices throughout the compounding, extrusion, , drying, curing, effluent-treatment, water-treatment, and utilities areas.The ideal candidate has experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably within latex, rubber, polymer, or chemical processing industries, and possesses strong analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving capabilities.Key Responsibilities1. Instrumentation Maintenance & Troubleshooting- Perform routine inspection, calibration, tuning, and preventive maintenance of all instrumentation devices, including:- Level, flow, pressure, temperature, and pH sensors- Load cells, viscosity meters, thermocouples, RTDs- Dosing-pump controllers, flow meters, and pressure transmitters- Process analyzers in compounding, acid baths, water-bath monitoring, drying ovens, and curing ovens- Diagnose failures and ensure timely corrective actions to minimize downtime in production lines.2. Control Systems & Automation- Knowledgeable in handling and programming Siemens TIA Portal- Support PLC, HMI, and SCADA system troubleshooting, modifications, and improvements (Siemens, Omron, Allen-Bradley or equivalent).- Assist in programming logic corrections, alarm settings, and process-parameter tuning for extrusion control, oven temperature control, talcum-powdering systems, curing profiles, and festooning equipment.- Ensure proper integration of sensors and control elements with mechanical and electrical systems.3. Process Stability & Quality Assurance- Monitor key production parameters- Ensure accuracy of instrumentation data used by Chemical Lab and Physical Lab for QC testing and product-spec verification.- Proactively identify instrumentation-related issues that could impact thread quality (e.g., diameter variations, coagulation inconsistencies, humidity defects, ribboning temperature deviations).4. Project Implementation & Continuous Improvement- Execute instrumentation upgrades, line expansions, and new equipment commissioning.- Recommend improvements for sensor selection, data-logging systems, predictive-maintenance tools, and automation enhancements.- Work closely with mechanical, electrical, chemical, and production teams on reduction of breakdowns and optimization of energy usage.5. Documentation & Compliance- Maintain accurate calibration records, loop drawings, wiring diagrams, and PM schedules.- Prepare technical reports, root-cause analyses, and failure-mode documentation.- Ensure compliance with internal safety procedures, OEM specifications, and industry standards.

- Maintaining stamping dies in good productive condition.- Analyze problem and repair tooling for corrective action.- Make improvement and propose corrective and preventive action.- Understand and read engineering drawing.- Setup and follow-up on die setup and minor trouble-shooting on press machine.- Assemble new tooling and modification / upgrading.- Operate surface grinding machine for fabrication, resurface and modification.- Completes routine die report for traceability / improvements and communicates effectively through detail information.- Control spare part inventory.- Conduct test runs with completed tools or dies to ensure that parts meet specifications; make adjustments as necessary.- File, grind, shim, and adjust different parts to properly fit them together.- Fit and assemble parts to make, repair, or modify dies, jigs, gauges, and tools, using machine tools and hand tools.- Inspect finished dies for smoothness, contour conformity, and defects.- Lift, position, and secure machined parts on surface plates or worktables, using hoists, vises, v-blocks, or angle plates.- Set up and operate conventional or computer numerically controlled machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders to cut, bore, grind, or otherwise shape parts to prescribed dimensions and finishes.- Smooth and polish flat and contoured surfaces of parts or tools, using scrapers, abrasive stones, files, emery cloths, or power grinders.- Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances of finished parts for conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as calipers, gauge blocks, micrometers, and dial indicators.- To handle other tasks and duties as and when requested by superior.
