【Job Summary】We are seeking a hands-on Field Service Engineer with strong technical experience in semiconductor Die Bonder equipment to join our growing technical service team in Bayan Lepas, Penang.The ideal candidate will have practical experience in independently diagnosing, troubleshooting, maintaining, and resolving technical issues related to Die Bonders, preferably Canon Machinery models.Candidates with previous experience working for semiconductor equipment manufacturers or equipment service providers are highly preferred.This position requires direct technical problem-solving experience. Experience limited to operating equipment, providing instructions to operators, or coordinating with external equipment vendors is not sufficient.The successful candidate will be responsible for providing on-site technical support, preventive and corrective maintenance, equipment installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting at semiconductor manufacturing facilities.The role requires close collaboration with customers to ensure equipment reliability, minimize production downtime, and maintain high service quality.This is a field-based position, with engineers primarily traveling directly from home to customer sites around Bayan Lepas and the Penang International Airport industrial area.The successful candidate will join an existing engineering team and receive initial technical training in Kuala Lumpur for up to one month.【Responsibilities】**1. Equipment Troubleshooting & Technical Problem-Solving**- Independently diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and equipment-related technical issues involving semiconductor Die Bonders.- Identify the root causes of equipment failures and implement effective technical solutions.- Perform hands-on repair, adjustment, and replacement of faulty equipment components.- Respond to equipment breakdowns and minimize customer production downtime.- Provide technical recommendations to prevent recurring equipment problems.**2. Equipment Installation & Commissioning**- Perform installation, setup, calibration, and commissioning of semiconductor assembly equipment.- Conduct equipment testing and adjustments to ensure proper operational performance.- Support Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) and customer equipment acceptance procedures.- Ensure equipment meets required technical specifications and performance standards.**3. Preventive & Corrective Maintenance**- Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) and corrective maintenance (CM) at customer sites.- Inspect equipment conditions, identify potential failures, and carry out necessary maintenance activities.- Perform equipment modifications, adjustments, and component replacements when required.- Ensure equipment reliability and maintain high operational efficiency.**4. On-Site Technical Support**- Provide direct technical assistance to customers at semiconductor manufacturing facilities.- Handle technical inquiries and equipment-related issues professionally.- Communicate technical findings, troubleshooting results, and recommended solutions to customers.- Coordinate with internal technical teams or equipment manufacturers when additional support is required.**5. Customer Relationship & Service Support**- Build and maintain positive working relationships with customers.- Understand customer equipment requirements and provide appropriate technical recommendations.- Identify opportunities for equipment upgrades, maintenance services, and additional technical support.- Support the development of service business opportunities.**6. Service Documentation & Spare Parts Management**- Prepare accurate service reports documenting maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities.- Submit completed field service reports within 2 working days.- Monitor outstanding service cases until resolution.- Manage spare parts requests, usage records, and the return of unused or defective components.**7. Field Service Operations & Business Travel**- Travel directly from home to customer sites, primarily within Bayan Lepas and surrounding industrial areas in Penang.- Attend customer facilities for equipment installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and technical support.- Travel to Kuala Lumpur or other locations within Malaysia when required, generally less than once per month.
