  【Job Summary】
  We are seeking a dedicated, highly analytical, and hands-on Service Engineer to join our growing technical services team in Penang, Malaysia. As a key player in our regional support operations, you will be responsible for providing high-quality engineering support, maintenance, installation, and field operations for advanced high-precision semiconductor assembly machinery, specifically focusing on die-bonding machinery and integrated packaging automation systems.
  
  In this role, you will operate as a trusted field engineering specialist, serving as the direct point of contact for premier semiconductor manufacturing plants located predominantly within the Penang industrial technology hub (such as near the Penang International Airport industrial area). This position is structured around a flexible, home-to-client field service model where you will commute directly from home to customer sites, allowing maximum responsiveness to client needs with minimal requirement to visit the regional headquarters office.
  
  As part of a focused 3-member engineering unit in Penang, you will execute a comprehensive range of technical activities including equipment setup, complex troubleshooting, scheduled preventive maintenance, corrective repairs, line modifications, and full site acceptance testing (SAT) until total customer buy-off is achieved. You will work closely with customer engineering teams, line managers, and regional internal leadership to ensure high machine uptime, maintain optimal production efficiency, and ensure key performance indicators (KPIs) are consistently met.
  
  Beyond technical maintenance and field troubleshooting, you will play a strategic role in driving operational efficiency and expanding service revenue opportunities. Through proactive communication and strong technical relationship building, you will identify emerging client requirements, recommend machine upgrades or component overhauls, and initiate potential service sales leads. Additionally, you will oversee field inventory logistics by managing spare parts tracking, submitting accurate service logs via modern digital service management systems, and ensuring field reports are processed promptly within specified turnaround times.

  【Responsibilities】
  • On-Site Installation & Field Commissioning: Execute full commissioning activities including machinery installation, physical setup, hardware/software configuration, deployment, calibration, testing, customer commissioning, and on-site buyoff until formal Site Acceptance is completed.
  • Maintenance & Technical Support: Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) and emergency corrective maintenance (CM) on customer-owned semiconductor assembly machinery to ensure operational reliability and minimal line downtime.
  • Field Service Operations & Commute Model: Primarily commute directly from home to customer facilities (with minimal requirement to visit the physical branch office) to address service calls, installations, and maintenance routines across assigned industrial zones in Penang.
  • Troubleshooting & Engineering Solutions: Diagnose, modify, recondition, and repair faulty equipment, components, and electronic/mechanical subsystems both on-site and during pre-installation testing phases.
  • Customer Relationship & Service Delivery: Maintain cordial, professional, and excellent working relationships with client representatives, key customer staff, and peer engineers while representing the company with high service standards.
  • Service Sales Opportunities: Engage in close communication with clients to understand their operational needs, identify technical bottlenecks, and initiate service sales opportunities to increase overall service business revenue.
  • Documentation & Service Reporting: Accurately record and submit all field engineering service activities, updates, and completed call details via approved Service Management Systems, ensuring completed field reports are delivered within 2 working days.
  • Logistics & Spare Parts Management: Check, track, and monitor unclosed service calls until final completion. Request necessary replacement parts and ensure unused or faulty spare parts are promptly returned within designated timeframes.
  • Regional Travel: Travel within Malaysia (typically less than once a month, ranging from a few days up to one week per trip, such as periodic monthly visits or specialized assignments at central facilities) when required.
