■ JOB SUMMARYThe Safety & Health Officer (SHO) is responsible for driving, enforcing, and monitoring all occupational safety, health, and environmental compliance at the Global Distribution Centre (GDC).As a DOSH/JKKP Green Book holder, the SHO ensures full compliance with the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA 1994, including 2022 amendments), Factories and Machinery Act (FMA), Environmental Quality Act (EQA), and internal corporate security/EHS standards to maintain a zero-harm workplace.■ JOB RESPONSIBILITIESRegulatory Compliance & DOSH Liaison•Function as the designated Green Book SHO registered with the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH/JKKP).•Maintain all statutory registers, permits, records, and documentation required under Malaysian safety and environmental laws.•Act as the primary liaison officer for DOSH, BOMBA, Department of Environment (DOE), local authorities, and official audits.•Ensure all machinery and equipment (e.g., Material Handling Equipment [MHE], forklifts, reach trucks, overhead cranes, passenger/cargo hoists) possess valid Certificates of Fitness (CF/PMA/PMT).GDC Warehouse Risk Assessment & Safety Oversight•Establish, review, and maintain HIRARC (Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, and Risk Control) for all GDC warehouse activities (rack storage, high-reach picking, inbound/outbound staging, loading bays).•Conduct regular site inspections, daily floor walk-throughs, and safety audits across the facility to identify and correct unsafe acts or conditions.•Oversee high-risk operational activities, ensuring proper Permit-to-Work (PTW) implementation (e.g., hot work, working at heights, electrical works, confined spaces).•Enforce traffic management plans within the GDC, including MHE speed limits, pedestrian walkways, loading dock safety, and driver clearance procedures.Incident Investigation & Reporting•Lead immediate investigations for all workplace incidents, accidents, near-misses, and occupational illnesses at the GDC.•Root-cause analysis (RCA) reporting and timely submission of statutory forms (e.g., JKKP 6, JKKP 7, JKKP 8) to DOSH within required deadlines.•Recommend and track Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) to completion.Safety Committee & EHS Training•Serve as the Secretary of the GDC Safety & Health Committee, organizing mandatory quarterly meetings, preparing agendas, and tracking action items.•Plan and conduct EHS induction for all new warehouse operators, staff, third-party logistics (3PL) personnel, contractors, and visitors.•Organize regular toolbox talks, emergency response team (ERT) drills, fire evacuation exercises, and first-aid training.Scheduled Waste & Environmental Management•Oversee the safe collection, labelling, storage, and disposal of Scheduled Waste generated at the GDC in compliance with DOE regulations and the e-SWIS system.•Monitor workplace ergonomics, indoor air quality, lighting levels, and noise exposure standards across picking and packing lines.
