• To actively lead the team to ensure that team targets and objectives are met in all aspects of the business, whilst promoting and monitoring the process of continuous improvement.• To provide, as practicably as possible, a safe and healthy working environment, implementing improvement programs in order to eliminate any work related injuries• To create and promote harmonious working relationships, improving the operation of the team and its relationship with both internal and external customers• Monitor and evaluate costs, quality and service; identifying areas for improvement programs in order to eliminate waste, this will normally be achieved through:• the use of problem solving techniques• the evaluation team of results compared to budget and objective• the ongoing monitoring of team performance• To define priorities together with team members, setting objectives and devising improvement plans in order that results meet or exceed expectations• Together with the team and Planning, ensure and guarantee the total satisfaction of all customers, both internal and external• To assist the team members and members of other teams (possibly outside the group) to achieve effective and efficient use of resources• To assist the Group Leader, MIC and Team members in defining the training and development needs of all team members• Through a cascade method, ensure that communications operate effectively both within the team and elsewhere within the organisation• Together with the Group Leader and the Process Improvers, determines any necessary investment within the team area and prepares the justification for capital expenditure• To act as a link with suppliers (internal and external) to ensure that the team operates in an efficient and productive manner.
