  - Designing and implementing cost-effective automation equipment
  - Developing a project specification with colleagues, often including from other departments
  - Developing, testing and evaluating theorectical designs
  - Discussing and solving complex problems with manufacturing departments, sub-contractors, suppliers and customers
  - Managing projects using engineering principles and techniques
  - Planning and designing new equipment •   Producing details of specifications and outline designs
  - Work together with partners/sub-contractors to ensure timely delivery of fabrication components/parts/equipment
